At Last....

The song had two different meanings on Tuesday January 20th. The President (or as some I know have started to call him, The Obamassiah) and his lovely wife danced to Etta James 1961 hit song 10 times at all the different inaugural balls. However, the title meant so much more when you thought of ol' Dubya. At last, the very worst President in modern history is gone. At Last. At Last.

"We reject as false the choice between our safety and our ideals. Our founding fathers...our founding fathers faced with perils that we can scarcely imagine drafted a charter to assure the rule of law and the rights of man. A charter expanded by the blood of generations. Those ideals still light the world, and we will not give them up for expedience sake."

Yet again, I go back to my favourite Benjamin Franklin quote in regards to the previous administration.

"They who can give up essential liberty to obtain a little temporary safety, deserve neither liberty nor safety."

Put that in your pipe and smoke it, Mr. Torture President!

Below, the 3rd item on Olbermann's "Still Bushed." Please listen to what Mr Manfred Nowak, the UN investigator in charge of torture crimes had to say and what it may mean for the future.

Lastly, because I thought it was the best Inauguration Speech since JFK and FDR's second, here's now President Obama's speech.
